Something not working, or did the Officer cross a line? Write to us. A person answers.

Usually a reply within two working days. English or German, either is fine.

Reporting an answer

The Officer passes hard judgements, that is deliberate. What he must not do is attack you: your person, your appearance, your intelligence, or a protected characteristic. If he did, that is a fault and we want to know about it.

Write to support@belegkompass.de, ideally with a screenshot. You do not have to tell us what your Grill was about, the question alone is enough.

Common questions

The Officer is silent

Check the Ring/Silent switch on the side of your iPhone first: on silent, the Officer stays quiet too, that is intended. Then look in the app under Settings → The Officer → Voice to see whether the voice is on. Without it a Grill runs faster; the questions are on screen either way.

The microphone picks nothing up

GRILL ME turns speech into text on your device. That needs two permissions: microphone and speech recognition. Both live in iOS Settings under GRILL ME. You can always type your answers instead.

Cancelling a subscription

Subscriptions run through your Apple account, not through us. In the app: Settings → Manage subscription. Or in iOS: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.

Restoring purchases

New device, or reinstalled the app? Settings → Restore purchases. It works from the same Apple account, with no account on our side.

Deleting my Grills

Finished Grills are kept on your device and nowhere else. To erase them: Settings → On this device → Delete all Grills. Deleting the app removes them too. We hold no copy we could delete for you. The privacy policy explains why.

A Grill stopped halfway through

Tap retry and the Officer tries again, your answer is not lost. If it keeps happening it is usually the network. Tell us if it becomes a pattern.

Requirements

iPhone running iOS 26 or later. Speech recognition is part of the system; nothing extra is downloaded.
